When someone dies

What to do if someone dies at home
When a death which has been expected occurs at home the doctor who has been treating your loved one should be contacted and they or a colleague will attend to confirm that a death has occurred and give permission for your loved one to be transferred to the Funeral Directors. At this point you should contact us on 0121 556 0056 (this is a 24-hour number and covers all areas) to arrange for our staff to transfer the deceased to our Chapels of Rest.

Providing your loved one has seen their doctor during their last illness (within the previous 28 days) a medical certificate stating the cause of death will be issued which will allow you to register the death at your local registry office. This needs to be the registrars in the same area as where the person has passed away.

What to do if someone dies in a nursing home

When a death occurs at a nursing home, the nursing home staff should liaise with the doctor and then contact us on 0121 556 0056 (this is a 24-hour number and covers all areas) to arrange for our staff to transfer your loved one to our Chapel of Rest.

What to do if someone dies in hospital
When a death occurs in hospital, the staff nurse will arrange for a doctor to issue the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death, which will be forwarded to the relevant registrars on your behalf. Contact us and we will arrange a suitable time to discuss your requirements and arrange to bring the person who has passed away into our care.

What to do if someone dies suddenly
When someone dies suddenly, it is normal for the coroner to be involved. The coroner is automatically involved in most sudden or unexpected deaths, especially if the person who has died has not been under a doctor’s care within the last 28 days. Contact us a soon as possible and we will be able to advise you on the procedures involved and liaise with the coroner’s office on your behalf.

The team at Webbs were brilliant, they helped us to organise the hardest day of our life with such grace and care. They also had everything sorted out for us and we never had to worry about anything, on the run up to the funeral we were kept in the loop of everything.

We are very thankful for the exceptional care and professionalism provided by S Webbs during such a difficult time for our family.

Thank you so much S Webbs & Son for taking such good care of my brother. His send off was perfect to us.

S Webb & Son Funeral Directors provided an exceptional level of professionalism, care, and compassion during a very difficult time.

Webbs did an amazing job for my mums funeral. From the start they were kind, compassionate, supportive of the ideas we had and went above and beyond to help us have the funeral we wanted for my mum.

It is with extreme gratitude I express sincere thanks to webbs of wednesbury. Karen from the Darlaston branch, welcomed both myself & mom from start to finish
